Repair Shop Prices

The Elderly Instruments repair shop will be happy to perform any repairs you may need and not feel capable of doing yourself. Prices are based on our current hourly rate and current prices for parts. Add sales tax and/or shipping as appropriate.

For your convenience in estimating the cost of having us repair or upgrade your instrument, we provide the following guide to aggregate cost on frequently requested items:

Refelt individual bars: $20 + $17.30/bar (includes felt)

Customize new blank bars: $10 + $16.50/bar (includes blank bar)

Refelt all bars: 3 hrs + felts

21-bar: $230

15-bar: $215

Install Chord bar conversion kit: 50 min + kit

21-bar: $141

15-bar: $132

      NOTE: If we encounter special problems such as the need to make shims, add up to one hour ($60).

Install Pickup

21-bar: $45

15-bar: $60

Tune: $20-45

Restring & tune: 1 1/2 hrs + strings

with OSA or OSB strings: $145

Replace 1 string: $5 + string

Replace pulled string anchor and restring: 3hrs + parts

with OSA or OSB strings: $256 >!--

with ATB strings: $265 -->

Reglue pin block to back as well as possible w/o removing strings 1 1/2 hr ($90)
