Wardcliff Scholastic Chess Tournament
Open to students in grades K-8
Just For Fun----Not USCF Rated----Lots of
Trophies---Beginners Welcome
(participation ribbon to all participants)
● 5 Rounds
● Time Control G-30
(each player has 30 minutes to make all of their moves)
● Play only students
in your own grade (separate tournaments for each grade K-6)
● Grades 7-8 may be
combined into one section, depending upon registration
● Trophies to all
players who score at least 3 points (usually over 40% of the players get a
trophy!!)
● Beginners encouraged to participate
● Players
in grades 6 and up need to bring boards and sets. Younger players will be provided with boards and
sets. All players should bring a clock if they have one. (Clocks are NOT
required for this tournament).
● Please bring “soccer mom” chairs for seating in the waiting area. A few
regular chairs will be available, and tables will be available.

Round times will be accelerated if all games have been
completed.
Pre-Registration is $8,
on-site registration is $15 from
Lunch and Snacks will be available on site
