Bill Cullen
|
In
addition to his TV accomplishments, Bill had a varied and successful radio
career. While it's well known that he hosted many early game shows
in the 1940s, he also spent five years in the fifties as a morning radio
host in New York City and had daily five-minute features that were distributed
to local stations as late as 1988.
Early in his career, Bill was the
CBS staff announcer on a wide variety of series, almost certainly more
than we've listed here. Also, some of the early shows for which we
have listings may only have been local NYC programs.
Shows are divided into three groups,
the early radio shows he announced for CBS, the early quiz shows he hosted,
and all his other radio work. Each section also has one or more actual
audio clips featuring some fascinating examples of Bill's radio career.
