KIDS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS
(Also see HOUSE PARTY and PEOPLE ARE FUNNY)
Not a game show, and not even its own series until the Bill Cosby version of the 1990s, kids originally said their darndest things on Art Linkletter's House Party.  Considering its audience-participation roots, the large number of books and the recent release of a board game, we gave the feature its own listing.

(Credited to Art Linkletter except where noted):
Kids Say the Darndest Things (Prentice-Hall 1957)
This best-seller featured illustrations by Charles Schultz and an introduction by Walt Disney.  Later released in paperback (Cardinal 1959), it paved the way for the titles below:
The Secret World of Kids (1960)
Kids Still Say the Darndest Things (Paperback: Cardinal 1962)
        Kids Sure Rite Funny (1962)
Kids Are Still Saying the Darndest Things (Prima 1993) by Dandi Daley MacKall
Linkletter contributed only the introduction for this new collection of "darndest" sayings.
Kids Say the Darndest Things (1998) by Bill Cosby [Cosby on cover]
The Cosby book acknowledged Linkletter but had no writing credited to him.

Kids Say the Darndest Things (Columbia c1957)
Probably a spoken-word collection of darndest gems, but we're not sure.
